Stacey Rizzo received her Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ and her PhD in Neuroscience from University College London. She is a behavioral pharmacologist by training and spent 18 years in the pharmaceutical industry at Wyeth-Ayerst, Sibia Neurosciences, Merck Research Laboratories, Aventis Pharmaceuticals, and Pfizer, where she led and contributed to Drug Discovery programs aimed at identifying novel drug candidates to treat disorders of the Central Nervous System including neurodevelopmental, neuropsychiatric, and neurodegenerative diseases. Stacey joined the faculty at The University of Pittsburgh in 2019 with dual appointments in the Department of Neurobiology and the Department of Geriatric Medicine. She also holds the role of Deputy Director for Preclinical Research at The University of Pittsburgh Aging Institute. Stacey is impassioned to be serving as CTF’s Chief Scientific Advisor to advance their mission towards finding a cure for dementia.
