Collaboration for Accelerated Impact
In 2020, we celebrated our 10th year as a foundation with continued growth and pursuit of results, launching a new research initiative - the CTF Consortium. Our focus has always been to expand and enhance the breadth of our research efforts, as well as the impact of your donated dollars.
The CTF Consortium is a collaborative group of renowned doctors and researchers working in Pittsburgh to cure dementia!
Comprised of top researchers from UPMC and University of Pittsburgh, this initiative has received a total of $550,000 since its inauguration and has just completed it's third funding cycle, continuing its vital work towards dementia research and collaborative discoveries. 2026 marks the beginning of a new funding cycle for the CTF Research Consortium. As part of our ongoing commitment to responsible stewardship, we are currently conducting our standard review of the research just completed, as well as reviewing cutting-edge funding options moving forward. Learn more about the current CTF Consortium members and their previously fundedresearch below.

The CTF Consortium is a catalyst for uniting three highly productive research groups with complimentary expertise. Their expertise allows this research to span across a variety of research methodology and treatment theories. The excitement of this model is found within their overlapping entities. When explored together, they can accelerate research advancements and double or even triple funding impact. This chart highlights the areas in which collaboration throughout this research is taking place.

Dr. Robert Friedlander is no longer affiliated with UPMC or the University of Pittsburgh, stepping down from his role as Chair of the Department of Neurological Surgery in December of 2025.
