Taking a chance on blackjack, slot machines and the roulette wheel was just part of the fun for guests during Saturday night’s Roll for a Reason Monte Carlo Casino Night. The gala, to benefit the Clear Thoughts Foundation, was held at The Jane (formerly Jay Verno Studios) on the South Side. Event organizers set a goal of raising $200,000 for dementia research in the ninth year of the event. “I believe we are going to crush that goal because, even before the games and the live and silent auctions, we are already at $146,000,” said Clear Thoughts founder and president Hayley Jameson.

Passed appetizers and food stations, as well as ample libations, kept everyone satisfied as they mingled, munched, bid and bet during the evening. Live music by Take Two and performance painting by Cody Sabol and Kait Schoeb enhanced the party ambiance. “The collaboration that comes together for this event is a direct reflection of the collaborative research that we are doing to end the fight against dementia,” noted Clear Thoughts executive director Cait Fenello.

The evening ended on a sweet note with A. Martini & Company’s candy and dessert buffet. Among the more than 325 supporters were Clear Thoughts founding board members Matt Jameson and Sharon Sippel, chief scientific advisor Dr. Karl Herrup, Trudy and Bob Ward, Judy and Marty Smith, Brian and Kristen Huskey, Trent Napotnik and his sister, Chloe, Lauren Carlin and D.J. Stover, Bob Davis and Anthony Dolan, Nancy Huckestein, Brittany and Zach Harrison and Suzanne and Mike Fenello.
